SDB 8(a) Alaska Native Corporations (ANCs) and Federal Contracting
ANCs are in a unique position to rapidly tailor a team drawn from private industry, consultants and academia to meet a client's needs. Under the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), an ANC may receive direct negotiated contracts regardless of dollar amount. Its eligibility for direct negotiated or competitive 8(a) requirement may not be challenged. The DFAR further stipulates that a contractor of a Federal agency may be allowed an additional amount of compensation equal to 5 percent of the amount paid to a subcontractor which is an Indian organization or Indian owned economic enterprise.
